Invenergy's 15th Iowa wind project reaches operations in Chickasaw County

Invenergy-developed Chickasaw Wind reached operations in December 2023, bringing 200 megawatts of renewable energy online - enough to power over 65,000 American homes. The project is estimated to invest $152 million annually in local taxes, land costs, lease payments, and wages and benefits in Chickasaw County.

“We installed 66 turbines in northern Chickasaw County with two different turbine types to make up the 200 MW of capacity,” remarked lead project developer, Isaac Lamppa. “MidAmerican Energy Company, Iowa’s largest public utility, purchased the wind energy center in spring of 2023. Invenergy’s first wind project in Iowa was Victory Wind in Carroll County, 99 MW, and Chickasaw is our 15th wind project in Iowa!”
